LDNY360 | Intelligence — 6 November 2026

A growing pipeline is only valuable if your business can access it, resource it and deliver it profitably. Today’s intelligence connects early housing engagement, rail supplier appointments and stronger construction margins with the workforce and asset-assurance questions that determine delivery.

LDNY360 view: senior leaders need a current market strategy that joins work winning to delivery capability. The headline value is a starting point. The useful questions are who buys, when decisions are made, what resource is required and where the risk sits.

Wychavon: engage by 18 November

Homes England has opened preliminary market engagement for a development and infrastructure partner at Wychavon Town, beside Worcestershire Parkway. Its land could accommodate approximately 550 homes in the town centre and up to approximately 2,100 across the wider Southern Neighbourhood. Outline planning applications have been submitted.

Stage and value: preliminary market engagement, with indicative £200m gross development value. This is a development valuation, not a construction budget or committed spend. The questionnaire deadline is 17:00 GMT on 18 November 2026; a tender notice is currently anticipated in December, with dates remaining indicative.

Commercial action: prospective partners should request the questionnaire and test infrastructure, funding, delivery and phasing assumptions. Participation does not confer a later bidding advantage. Treat this as engagement, with a clear decision on whether the eventual procurement fits your business.

GWR: a £90m framework ceiling, with work still to compete for

First Greater Western has named 16 intended suppliers for its Construction and Infrastructure Works Framework, covering minor works, major projects and depot works. The panel includes AMCOGiffen, Centregreat Rail, Gloster MEP, Hollywell Building Services, Honeyfield Property Services, Vinci Construction UK, Spencer Rail, Trackwork and EMEG, alongside other specialists.

The award notice is in standstill until 16 November. The planned framework start is 30 November 2026, with a three-year term and an optional one-year extension. Work will be competed through mini-competitions.

Commercial action: panel members should map likely call-offs and delivery partners. Other specialists should identify relevant panel firms and the packages they will buy. The £90m ceiling represents potential framework work; appointment does not guarantee workload, and repeated supplier values must not be added together.

Morgan Sindall: examine the discipline behind stronger margins

Morgan Sindall’s trading update points to full-year performance slightly ahead of prior expectations. Construction revenue is progressing towards £1.5bn, with margins at the upper end of its 3.5%–4.0% target. Infrastructure expects revenue towards £1bn and margins at the top of its 3.75%–4.25% range. Partnership Housing profit remains below previous expectations.

Commercial action: compare performance by division, including cash, margin and project selection. Stronger results in construction and infrastructure should inform your competitive assessment while project-level risk controls remain central to every pursuit.

Legacy building safety: keep historical exposure in view

Today’s report also covers the reported £46.5m building-safety repayment ruling involving five Urban Splash-linked entities and seven Manchester residential buildings. Urban Splash says it is seeking a constructive way forward with government and other stakeholders.

Commercial implication: legacy asset responsibilities can materially affect present business performance. Developers, funders and advisers should review portfolio exposure with their legal and insurance advisers, including funding arrangements, warranties and historical responsibilities.

Highlands energy: local workforce capacity will shape conversion

CITB’s Local Skills Scotland 2026 analysis identifies a potential £100bn-plus energy and infrastructure pipeline in the Highlands and Islands. If projects proceed, local construction-worker demand could more than double, increasing demand across Scotland by around 12%. These are conditional forecasts.

Commercial action: build location-specific workforce plans alongside the bid pipeline. Training, accommodation, travel, project sequencing and local supplier capacity all affect whether visible demand can become deliverable work. A national labour total can conceal a severe regional constraint.

Calgary: asset assurance belongs in the boardroom

Alberta has released the independent municipal inspection into Calgary’s management of the Bearspaw South Feeder Main. The report identifies weaknesses in infrastructure-risk understanding, escalation and reporting, with 20 recommendations covering governance, asset management, finance and responses to external reviews.

Commercial action: asset owners and advisers should test how condition data reaches decisions, who can escalate concerns and where independent assurance is needed. The inspection is an asset-governance signal; its publication does not announce a new procurement or contract award.
