Mike Richardson was a Chartered Architect for over 40 years with deep experience guiding professional services and built-environment businesses through growth, transition, and complex change.

Trained at the Leeds School of Architecture, Mike’s career spanned the design and delivery of highly complex buildings alongside senior leadership roles at group and partnership level. His work sits at the intersection of architecture, governance, and enterprise strategy — supporting organisations where design excellence, commercial discipline, and long-term stewardship must align.

Mike served as Equity Partner, Senior Partner, and ultimately Chair of William Saunders Partnership LLP, a multi-disciplinary, multi-location construction consultancy. In these roles, he led partnership governance, group restructuring, and strategic decision-making across complex business divisions.

He brings significant experience in mergers, acquisitions, and divestments, advising on transactions involving both trade buyers and private equity. His perspective is grounded in first-hand leadership experience — understanding not just deal mechanics, but the cultural, operational, and reputational realities that shape successful outcomes.

As Non-Executive Director and Consultant at LDNY360, Mike provides independent board-level insight, architectural intelligence, and transaction experience. He supports leadership teams on sustainable growth, succession planning, leadership transition, and value creation — particularly within architecture, engineering, and professional services firms.

Beyond governance and strategy, Mike is a strong advocate for the sustainable refurbishment and long-term stewardship of built assets, with a particular interest in heritage buildings and responsible adaptation.
